Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Rates for the Sale of Electricity for Large Electric Load Customers

Notice is hereby given as required by Iowa law that the Board of Trustees of Algona Municipal Utilities will hold a public hearing to consider proposed electric rates for large loads and the repeal of any resolutions in conflict.

The public hearing will be held on October 7, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Utility Offices, 104 West Call Street, Algona, Iowa 50511. At the hearing, the Board of Trustees will consider adoption of the following resolutions, each of which is on file and available for public inspection at the Utility Offices:
• Resolution Number 2026-26: Resolution Adopting Large Load Distribution-Connected Interruptible Load Rate and repealing resolutions in conflict.
• Resolution Number 2026-27: Resolution Adopting Large Load Market-Based Interruptible Service Rates with a separate Southwest Power Pool (SPP) pricing node and repealing resolutions in conflict.
• Resolution Number 2026-28: Resolution Adopting Large Load Distribution-Connected Interruptible Service Rate with a separate Southwest Power Pool (SPP) pricing node and repealing resolutions in conflict.

At the public hearing, any interested person may speak for or against the proposed action. Written comments may also be submitted to Algona Municipal Utilities before or at the hearing.
