Algona, IA – Algona Municipal Utility, in collaboration with Iowa State University, is excited to announce the launch of a community survey designed to gather resident feedback about current energy sources and future energy planning needs and priorities. This initiative reflects a strong commitment to ensuring that every voice in Algona is heard, and that AMU’s services continue to evolve in line with community priorities.
The survey will be available online from April 21 to May 20. All responses to the survey are confidential, and every response will provide valuable insight as Algona Municipal Utility plans for a future energy system that supports both efficiency and quality community service. AMU and the Iowa State University Master of Community and Regional Planning Studio will host a community engagement meeting on May 1 at Algona City Hall to discuss future energy generation in Algona. The meeting will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It is open to all community members.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with AMU officials and the Iowa State University Master of Community and Regional Planning Studio. Refreshments will be provided, and interactive sessions are planned to ensure that every participant can contribute to shaping the priorities and agenda for Algona’s energy future.
This community engagement meeting is an integral part of a broader initiative to ensure that planning for Algona’s energy infrastructure remains inclusive, data-driven, and responsive to citizens’ concerns.
